Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

White Flowers

Does one need any reason to make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies?!? Call me crazy but I think cookies as healthy as these don't need any reason at all. They are ooey and gooey and bonus points for being sugar, dairy and gluten free too!! You want to know what gets me excited?! I'll pull the curtain back for a moment and let you have a peak. I am passionate about finding foods I love and creating a healthier version of them for my family (and you all!) that tastes great, nourishes our bodies, and reduces our risk of developing various ailments and health conditions . If there's one think I want to always reiterate to people and shout from the rooftops is that you CAN eat foods that taste good AND are healthier alternatives. It is possible!. As someone who spend their twenties inhaling anything I could get my hands on that contained sugar (and carbs) my current diet is a complete 180 degree turn from the old me and you know what? I don't feel deprived!! Ok...I'm on a soap box aren't I?! We were talking about cookies weren't we...how did we get here? I digress.

Back to cookies! I had each of the kids taste test these warm fresh out of the oven cookies and they are both kid approved (and health coach mom approved!). --> #winning. It's been a goal of mine for awhile to replace several of my favorite cookie recipes with cleaner, healthier versions and this one did just that. All naturally sweetened with bananas, dates, cinnamon and stevia (in Lily's chocolate chips) they will add a little bit of joy to your day. Try it and see for yourself and tag me if you do!
